Enhancing CFD Accuracy and Efficiency with Adaptive Remeshing – CadenceTECHTALK
The aerospace and defense sector faces constant challenges of simulation accuracy and efficiency to accelerate the design cycle. Many techniques have been developed to automate the processes and obtain more accurate flow-field predictions. One key factor in this effort is mesh generation process automation. Manually generating meshes for CFD can require extensive knowledge of the physics at play and detailed best practices, which can be hard to produce consistently. This sometimes leads to unnecessarily refined grids in some regions of the flow and under-refined grids in others.
Output-based adaptive remeshing offers an excellent solution. This fully automated process locally refines regions with critical flow features that require smaller cell sizes, optimising mesh spacing for accuracy while maintaining a reasonable cell count and improving CFD workflow turnaround time.
This webinar will demonstrate the adaptive remeshing workflow using the Fidelity Pointwise and Hexpress meshers alongside the Fidelity Flow solver. You will learn about:
- The output-based adaptive remeshing algorithm
- The adaptive meshing workflow with Fidelity CFD solutions
- Workflow results on industry-relevant test cases, such as sonic-boom prediction and transonic flow around wings and aircraft
